Section Descriptions
From every point within Connections, the navigation apparatus will give you the ability to move to any other point by moving to the master index, the site map, or directly to another section of the site. You can, however, choose to enter the text through any of the following interfaces according to your need, desire, or whim. Other interfaces will come online in the next year. This unit approaches the analysis of poetry from three directions: modules that analyze a few short works by a single author from many complementary directions; essays on the techniques and strategies involved in a variety of poetic forms (blank verse, ballads, and so forth); and reference material that underlies the other units to clarify specialized terms as they arise.
This unit provides materials designed primarily to help college undergraduates research and write papers that analyze literary texts. This interface takes you to the historically-oriented materials in Connections, including a detailed timeline of British-oriented history from 1776 to 1930. English 224, Traditions of English Literature II The most "content"-oriented section of Connections, this unit gathers information designed to support modules that make up English 224. The course attempts the unenviable task of covering three literary periods (Romantic, Victorian, Modern) in one semester. This part of Connections supports a modular approach in which students read primary and secondary writings about one aspect of each of those periods. To see how the modules function, click into this interface. |
