Class 23: Lab: Some Simple JavaScripts

Overview

Today we continue our investigation of JavaScript by reading some of the JavaScripts we developed for today.

Question 23 for today's class: Write a short JavaScript program and corresponding Web page using the techniques you've learned.

Question 24 for Friday's class: Find a useful JavaScript script on the Web. Report on the source and how you might use that script.

• Many responses are getting somewhat unreadable. At the minimum, please spell-check your responses.
• Jae raised some interesting issues in his comments for today's class. We'll return to those issues next week.
• There will be no class on Friday, March 10.

Open Ended Lab

Your goal for today is to explore some of the sample scripts that your classmates and I have come up with. You can find the scripts listed in the handouts section above.

• Spend about five-ten minutes playing with the pages.
• Spend another ten-fifteen minutes reading over the code and taking notes on how to do various things. Make notes of any questions you have.
• We'll spend about ten minutes talking about what we've discovered.
• Spend the remainder of class using those techniques to build a more interesting Web page.
