Homework

For homework, be sure first to familiarize yourself with definitions and statements of theorems by reading the sections ahead of time. In class, we will focus on understanding proofs of theorems.

In addition, I will post daily homework assignments on the table at the bottom of the page. I will collect homework assignments at the beginning of class. I will generally not accept late homework, but I will drop your lowest two homework grades.

Exams

There will be three in-class exams, on September 21, October 14, and November 18. Books, notes, and calculators may not be used during exams.

Final Exam

The final exam is scheduled for Tuesday, December 15, at 9:00 AM. Don't make flight arrangements or other plans that will require you to take an alternate exam. (Those who do will lose a letter grade on their exam.)

Grading

Homework: 20%
Exam average: 40%
Final Exam: 30%
Maximum of final exam grade and exam average: 10%
