Exams

There will be in-class exams on October 5 and November 12. There will also be a comprehensive final exam on Tuesday, December 18 at 9:00 AM. Don't make flight arrangements or other plans that will require you to take an alternate exam. Those who do will lose a letter grade on their exam.

Homework

Doing homework regularly is essential to learning the material. Homework is due at the beginning of class. Late homework will not be accepted. There will typically be two homework assignments each week. A portion of each homework will be graded by the instructor.

Quizzes

20-25 minute quizzes will given be on days when no homework is due, and will be given at the beginning of class. Typically, quizzes involve a few short answers involving definitions or statements of theorems, and a proof. Quizzes cover material discussed in class.
